Faruk Mhetar(1971 - 2025)
Faruk Mhetar was a dedicated guardian of nature and an inspiring environmental educator. Through Shivaji University's Continuing Education Program, he helped nurture nature enthusiasts and shaped a new generation of young bird researchers around the lakes of Kolhapur district.
Story
His love for the wild extended beyond classrooms. He organized field camps for plant, animal and bird researchers across Tadoba, Nagzira, Melghat, Sagareshwar, Chandoli, Radhanagari, Dajipur and Dandeli, helping participants build curiosity, research skills and lifelong respect for nature.
Responsibility
Through Green Guard, he devoted himself to spreading environmental awareness among school and college students. His guidance in butterfly conservation and Butterfly Gardens remains a living testament to his knowledge, vision and love for delicate life.
Promise
A heartfelt tribute to a remarkable soul whose work remains rooted in forests, lakes and the wings of the butterflies he cherished.
